SALES

We are taking reservations for Nigerian Dwarf kids
Interested in ADGA & AGS registered doe kids or adult does to add new quality genetics to your herd, for showing, milking, pets, or all of the above?
Every thing we do is to improve the  quality of our herd. We have some of the best milking and showing lines around and our Does and Bucks exceed our expectations yearly. If we have an animal that doesn't fit our expectations, we will sell them for pets. We take great pride in our herd and treat them humanely. They eat healthy organic hay and pasture and organic, Non-GMO grains that we mix our selves. We use holistic methods to treat parasites and illnesses. If an animal presents with something we can't help with, we have a vet that is on call.
Instructions
for reserving goats can be found below in our Sales Policy, under "How to Reserve and Purchase Goats."  We request a half-down deposit to reserve a goat.
   Contact us with any questions.
Please read our sales policy at the bottom of the page before making a deposit. We also accept checks and money orders. Include your full name, phone number, email address, and other necessary information with your deposit. Contact Us with any questions. Thank you.

Hazel is quite an awesome doe. She has proven herself in the milk bucket, as a mother and as an all around great doe, She is milk stand trained, a great milker and a great mother. she has easily birthed and taken care of quads the last two freshening's. We has used her a great deal and have a good share of her genetics so she needs to go to another herd where she can add those genetics... She has had her milk testing done to advanced registry which is a great accomplishment
Selling her as pregnant in October or as Milker in January $450

Periwinkle is a very nice doe. She has wonderful genetics and has served us well. She has      great conformation and can easily birth and care for her babies. She is a great mother and        has raised triplets and quads for many years. We have a great deal of her genetics to pull          from in our herd and feel it's time to share those qualities. with someone else.. most of her        milk testing is done. If you care to continue it you can test her for her advanced registry status

Dual Registered Does, Doelings, Bucks and Bucklings,
Bottle Babies and unregistered Wethers and pets for sale

We have a clean herd.. The goats on our farm are tested for CAE, CL, Johne's, Q Fever and Brucellosis every year. We do not offer stud service because of our herd biosecurity policy. Our goats, with the exception of wethers and pets, are dual-registered with the American Dairy Goat Association and the American Goat Society. We participate in DHIA milk testing programs with both registries.
All sales are final. We do not accept returns of animals because of our farm biosecurity policy.

Please Note
Goats are herd animals and need a companion of the same species to thrive. Therefore, we will not sell a goat singly unless the buyer can and will provide a same-species companion. We raise our animals in a healthy and humane way and ask that you do the same if you purchase from our herd.

Bottle Babies available for $100. Must be picked up within 2 weeks of birth
Doe & Buck Kids, Adult Does,& Bucks & Bred Does  . . . . Prices based on pedigrees and individual qualities. Please note: If you purchase a goat as a pet and later desire to register it, the additional fee will bring the price of the animal up to it's registered price.
All sales are final. We do not accept returns of animals because of our farm biosecurity policy.

How to Reserve and Purchase Goats
  1. Contact Us to let us know what goat(s) you would like to purchase, reserve and/or be on our notification list. If you wish to reserve a goat we request the following deposits
  2.  Reservation fees are a follows;
(Please note......we will not hold goats without a deposit)
Once you agree to purchase a specific goat, a non-refundable deposit of 1/2 the listed price is required on the goat until an agreed upon pick-up date.                (The initial reservation fee will be counted in).

The following information is needed from you;
  1. Provide us with your name, phone number, and email address. If you are from out of the area, provide us with your city and state and how you plan to have the goat transported to your location (will you pick it up yourself, or will you hire reliable ground transport?).
  2. To reserve a goat, we request a deposit of 1/2 the listed price. The goat(s) and any expenses incurred for health certificates, testing or transport etc., must be paid for in full at the time of pick up.
  3. We routinely disbud kids, so if you want your kid to have horns, it must be paid for in full within 5 days of birth, because horned kids are more difficult to find homes for it.

Please confirm within 36 hours that you want the goat, and provide us with any other information requested at that time. If we do not hear back from you within that time frame, we will move on to the next person on the reservation list.

Payment Options

Deposit Refund Policy
All deposits are nonrefundable unless Hickory Leaf Dairy Goats cannot sell the reserved animal to the buyer, in which case the deposits will be refunded in full or applied to the purchase of another animal or product we sell, as is available and the buyer desires at that time.

Pick Up & Transportation
The buyer may pick up their animal on our farm (please schedule an appointment beforehand), or hire reputable ground transportation who will pick up the animal at our farm). The buyer is responsible for all travel expenses, including but not limited to health certificates and transportation. The buyer is responsible for feed and care charges if the animal is left on our farm beyond the pick-up date agreed to by the seller and buyer. We reserve the right to terminate the sale if the animal is not picked up by the date agreed; in such cases all monies received are nonrefundable.

Hickory Leaf Dairy Goats Reserves the Right:
  • To retain any animal born on our farm.
  • To change breeding plans at our discretion.
  • To price animals at our discretion.
  • To terminate any sale at any time at our discretion (with a full refund of any deposits on the animal, other than in cases when the sale is terminated because the buyer failed to follow through with the purchase or pick up).
  • To place animals in the homes we feel are most suitable for them.
  • To terminate the sale of any animal to any person who shows that they cannot provide a proper home or proper care for the animal.
  • To refuse service to any person who is in any way unreasonable, dishonest, or refuses to comply with our farm policies, this sales policy, or any private sales agreements.

Guarantees
  • All animals are deemed healthy at the time of sale, but since we are unable to control their environment and treatment after they leave our care, we do not guarantee the health or wellbeing of animals after they leave our farm. We are happy to facilitate disease testing, vet checks, and health certificates prior to sale at the buyer's expense. All monies received for vet checking or disease testing are nonrefundable, It is the buyers responsibility to know their state animal health laws and make arrangements accordingly. Goats under the age of six months cannot be tested for goat diseases because of the potential for inaccuracies at this age. We can however test the parents at the buyer's expense.
  • Any goat sold as a breeding or show animal is dual-registered with the American Dairy Goat Association and the American Goat Society. Any goat intended to be a wether or pet is not sold registered. There are no guarantees on unregistered animals.
  • We guarantee the fertility of registered bucks for 1 year after purchase. A buck, after reaching 1 year of age, should be able to serve and settle a doe. The buyer is expected to provide reasonable care and feed. Should the buck prove to be a non-breeder, the buyer shall notify the seller within 60 days from the first time he was used to service, provided the buck was at least 1 year of age at the time of service; and the buyer shall provide sufficient proof, such as a statement from a veterinarian, that said buck is sterile. This guarantee is not applicable if the buck successfully settled does post-sale or if disease or injury that occurred post-sale caused sterility.
  • If the animal sold is a registered doe, there is no guarantee of fertility except where hermaphroditism becomes apparent when the animal reaches breeding age. This must be reported to us with sufficient proof by the time the doe is 1 year old.
  • A doe sold "bred" is not guaranteed to be pregnant, but only to have normally accepted service from a buck. We guarantee nothing regarding pregnancy and kidding success or the viability and quality of the resulting offspring. If the doe resides at our farm until she kids, we reserve the right to retain or sell the kids at our discretion.
  • We do not knowingly sell registered goats with disqualifying faults (e.g. over height Nigerians) existing at the time of sale without notifying the buyer prior to purchase. If the registered animal has a disqualifying defect that was obviously visually manifest at the time of sale (extra teat, etc.) but which we did not see, you must notify us within 1 year of purchase to receive a refund or replacement. We are not, however, responsible for an animal's death or injury or its future health, offspring, milk production, showing ability, linear appraisal scores, growth, adult height, or disposition.
  • Beyond those listed here, there are absolutely no guarantees or warranties offered. The guarantees do not apply if the animal was not purchased directly from Hickory Leaf Dairy Goats, and they do not apply to animals that do not carry our herd name. We are not responsible for the rehoming of any animal purchased from us which the buyer no longer desires to keep, and we do not accept returns.
  •  Some content sourced from ADGA Recommended Trade Practices for Members
DNA Testing:  ADGA Buck DNA Requirements: The American Dairy Goat Association now requires that all bucks born on or after January 1, 2024 must have DNA on file before their progeny can be registered with ADGA. This requires a hair sample from the buck be submitted to the lab for DNA typing. Hickory Leaf Dairy Goats will submit the sample to be typed and the price will be included in the bucks price and there will be no extra cost to the purchaser. The buck must be paid for before the sample is submitted. the DNA typing is not required to register the buck himself, but his DNA must be on file before ADGA will register his progeny. Money received for customer requested extra testing such as extra DNA, Alpha s1 Casein is nonrefundable. AGS does not require the DNA typing and a $50 deduction will be given if you choose to only register with them. However if the buckling leaves the farm with only the AGS registration we may not be able to provide ADGA registration if it is desired in the future.

Refunds or Replacements
Please read above guarantees for situations where refunds and replacements are offered.
  • A refund shall not exceed the original purchase price at any time. A more expensive animal may be used as a replacement if the difference in price is covered by the buyer.
  • Replacements are only available at the seller's discretion.
  • Refunds do not include veterinary, transport, feed, etc., expenses, or any expenses incurred after the sale of the animal.
  • The authentic registration paperwork of the animal being refunded or replaced must be signed over and returned to Hickory Leaf Dairy Goats before the refund or replacement will be given. We do not accept returns or exchanges of live animals because of our farm biosecurity policy.

If you have any questions regarding this policy, feel free to Contact Us. It is our desire that our customers have a great and fulfilling experience with their animals, and we are happy to help you along the way. Thank you.
